Weekly Update

Today was both stressful and informative.

My group met for hours today, trying to see where our next steps will be and determining what our production schedule will look like from here until the short film is complete.

One of our weakest areas was in character creation. We had one person responsible for modeling and rigging all of our characters in our short, which is at least 6 characters total, some with alterations in coloring and clothing for different versions of background characters. We knew that this would be difficult, but we were originally counting on help from other groups with character modeling --- help that doesn't look like we will be able to rely on. To make up for that, each member of our team is taking on at least one character to model, instead of requiring Ryan to do all the work.

We have not figured out all of our milestone deadlines for the next several months, but there are a few that are penciled in so far. We will continue our discussion when we meet on Monday, hopefully with a better grasp of what each step in the production schedule will take in terms of time.

In other news, we got some great feedback on our first scene, including suggestions on camera shots for the beginning of the scene and the view of the "Employee of the Century" portraits. Over the weekend, I plan on trying out different camera shots and bringing them to our Monday meeting in order to figure out what will be best.
